NCLE Webinar: Curriculum and Assessment Review: Languages education fit for purpose?

National Consortium for Languages Education. Languages - Defining today, transforming tomorrow

The National Consortium for Languages Education (NCLE) is the flagship national programme for languages education in England.  We aim to raise the profile of languages and strengthen language teaching and learning through evidence-based professional learning.

Our work is structured around three mutually reinforcing strands:

  • Language Educators Online (LEO): the new free online professional learning platform for languages teachers;
  • Language Networks: schools-led Strategic Learning Networks connecting teachers and school leaders in communities of practice; and
  • National Priority Projects: led by the Learning Networks, driving change by addressing regional needs through research-informed action on the ground.

Professor Li Wei, Director and Dean of the UCL Institute of Education, discusses how NCLE is working to re-energize languages education.
